Carradale Ladies Open attracted 46 entries from Kintyre and further afield with some splendid golf being played. The good weather helped as did the excellent course conditions. The Ladies annual Interclub Day took place on 28 April. The weather was every bit as challenging as the course, and players found themselves battling with hailstones, horizontal rain at times due to the strength of the wind, and occasionally some sun to dry everyone out – in time for the next downpour! Our Annual Dinner Dance is being held in Carradale Hotel on 3rd November 2012, 7 for 7.30pm. Winners of the AM-AM were R. McDougall, C McGeachy, R Wayson and G McMillan (Machrihanish) with a score of 49. Runners Up were I McKinnon, D Allen, M McArthur, and J Marrison (Dunaverty) with a score 0f 53 Third were D Rankin, D Irwin, L Ferguson and D McLean (Machrihanish) scoring 54 bih.
A competition was held at the Golf Club on Wednesday 8 August. The winners of the event, a mixed Greensome, was won by Eilidh Neilson and John MacLean. 23 players took part and after deducting the cost of golf balls as prizes, the total amount raised was just under £90.00
Congratulations to Jamie Campbell who broke the course record last Saturday scoring a gross 61. He went out in 32 and back in 29. Brilliant!
Carradale Golf Club played host to 14 teams of 4 players on Sunday 5 August.
