A lovely summer’s evening provided golfers with perfect conditions for competing for the McMillan Salver. Winners were Alan Robertson and Andrew White with a score 26.75 with runners up John McIntosh and Gregory White on 27.5 followed by Paul Stelmaszuk and Gillian Kitson knocked into 3rd position with 28.25. A successful Gents Open day was held with 26 competitors having travelled from far and wide. The course prepared well by Robert Strang, Greenkeeper, stood up well to the extreme weather conditions of Heavy rain after the dry spell. Good fun was had at the Ladies Distance Flag competition with Lynsay McGeachy winning by getting her ‘flag’ to the top of the hill at the 19th hole with Margaret Campbell in 2nd place with her flag placed on the 18th fairway. The Ladies Regional Medals finals took place at Kilmacolm Golf Club today and our Silver Division winner was in top form ! Laura McGeachy played a(nother) beautiful round of golf to come 1st in her category and now goes forward to play in the Scottish final at the Dukes course, St Andrews on 17th June.
