Bob Owen
It is with great sadness that the club announces the death on 16 July 2020 of our revenue treasurer, Bob Owen, after a short and unexpected illness. Bob and his wife, Maureen had an enduring connection with Carradale and they moved to the village permanently in 2001. Bob very soon became involved with club affairs and, with his accounting skills, he proved to be an excellent and conscientious treasurer for the past 11 years. He was still attending to the club’s financial matters right up to the onset of his illness. The club owes him a huge debt for his shrewd stewardship of our finances and for the management of our 200 Club for many years. He was also an invaluable member of the club’s sub – committee which oversaw the funding and construction of our present clubhouse in 2009. He will be sorely missed by all club members and especially so by his golfing buddies, AGT, McF and Sandy. Bob hated the rain and it was very fitting that he was laid to rest at Brackley in brilliant sunshine on 21 July following a moving graveside service.
